MIMMS Course FAQ

What does MIMMS stand for?

MIMMS stands for Major Incident Medical Management and Support, a training programme developed by the Advanced Life Support Group to teach structured major incident response.

How long does MIMMS certification last?

MIMMS certification is typically valid for four years, after which participants may undertake a full course to recertify.

I’ve heard there is a one-day MIMMS recertification course, is this correct?

No, this is incorrect. Providers wishing to recert must attend the full MIMMS course and not the one-day Team Provider MIMMS or a one-day course version. ALSG have confirmed the certification requirement and are updating their literature to reflect this.

Is the MIMMS course recognised internationally?

Yes. MIMMS is delivered worldwide and is widely recognised within emergency medicine and disaster response training.

How much does a MIMMS course cost in the UK?

Course prices vary depending on the provider and location, but most UK courses range between £500 and £700 per participant.

Can MIMMS be delivered at our organisation?

Yes. Gravitas Medical can deliver on-site MIMMS training anywhere in the UK, or Worldwide. Our instructors have successfully delivered onsite courses to organisations such as NHS and private ambulance services, event medical providers, utility providers and manufacturing facilities
